He can sing, he can act and he can still melt hearts with his ageless good looks, and Friday (May 9th), talented musician/actor Rick Springfield earned his place in Hollywood history with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Springfield was honored in a ceremony Friday afternoon by emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, plus special guest speakers actor Jason Thompson and singers Richard Marx and Jay DeMarcus. A crowd of fans cheered on as his star was unveiled at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard.
Having sold over 25-million records, Springfield is a pop culture staple with 17 Top-40 hits, including “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “An Affair of the Heart,” “I’ve Done Everything for You,” “Love Somebody” and “Human Touch.” Plus, who could forget his No. 1 hit single “Jessie’s Girl,” which earned him the 1981 GRAMMY for Best Male Rock Vocal!
